Baker District
Est. 2023
In 2019 Mountain Home became the first city in the State of Arkansas to approve and create an Entertainment District within the city limits, which was established within the boundaries of the Historic Mountain Home Square. With the increased business and traffic in the years following the creation of the Entertainment District, the businesses in the area formed the Baker District Merchant Association in 2023 and rebranded the area as Baker District in honor and reference to Baker Street and the Baker family who originally helped found the area and construct many of the buildings still existing on the square today.
The goal of the Baker District Merchant Association (BDMA) is to function as a Non-Profit Organization 501c(6) to promote the member merchants within the boundaries of the Mountain Home Entertainment District with marketing and promotion to facilitate increased traffic and business for all participating merchants. The BDMA will also focus on beautification projects to help improve the overall area and make it more attractive to the community and tourists visiting the area. The success of the BDMA is due to the participation of the businesses located within the boundaries of Baker District, and membership is renewed annually.
Membership is completely elective and is not required for a business to participate in the Entertainment District ordinance. Businesses interested in participating, supporting, or being included in BDMA promotion material, social media, website, advertisements, discussions, meetings and improvements can request more information below.
